HOMEWORK ADJUSTMENT and FIELD TRIP INFO

I put the wrong lesson number for the Language assignment for tonight.  I told the kids today in study hall that they could do L. 125, but if they had completed 127 instead, that would be fine. Both sections are good practice!

On Thursday the 30th, we will take a trip to Fat Eddie's for lunch and a nature scavenger hunt at the playground.  They will need money for their lunch, a jacket, and play shoes.  We never know what the weather will be like; it could be cool and muddy or warm and sunny.

Permission slips will go home tomorrow.

Please also remember that each evening they should be spending 15 minutes on IXL.  I am so excited at how much they are progressing!  I hope you have logged on and checked out their scores.

Thanks,

Mrs. Trescott

        IXL Information

Today I sent home a report showing your child's performance levels in Math on IXL.  Please take a look at it, sign it, and send it back tomorrow.

A quick explanation of how to understand this data is that 400 represents 4th grade level.  So, 410 would mean that your child is at a 4th grade level in the first month;  420 would mean 4th grade level in the second month and so on.  There are several concepts for which you will see a numeric score.

Next to the recommended skill on the sheet they brought home is a 3 digit number/letter set that I had the class highlight/circle.  Beginning tomorrow, Thursday March 2, they are assigned 15 minutes of IXL time at home working on these highlighted skills every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evening.

The boys and girls have become very good at using IXL and should be able to do their 15 minutes completely independently.  Their log in information should be stapled into their take-home folders.  I will be watching their progress each day to be sure they are getting their 15 minutes in.

IXL is a great tool to show us exactly what the students' individual needs are. It really helps me to make my direct instruction more effective.

Feel free to call or text me at 304-445-5744 with any questions.

Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication to your children!  You are all raising terrific kids who I am honored to teach!

Congratulations to all of our amazing readers this week!  Especially the top reader, Kambree, who read over 500 pages and Marcus, who read o...
