Weekend homework:  Do History Pages 237-238 C-D

There will be a History Quiz over Chapter 9 and page 541 (map is bonus only), and a verse quiz over Luke 2:9-11 on Tuesday. 

A permission slip went home today for a Caroling activity we will do on Monday.  I know it is short notice, but I think the class will be a blessing to some widows that I know.  

Please sign the permission slip, and send it in on Monday.  

Christmas Party

Tuesday, December 19th

We will be exchanging ornaments and Christmas socks at the party.  We will not swap names.  Please just send in a new ornament and a fun pair of socks for your child to exchange with another student.  

We will eat our normal lunches in our classroom, but if you would like to send in a special snack, you can do that.  I will be bringing some treats and have some games and a movie planned! 

We have had a great week!  I hope everyone was as blessed as I was by our Christmas play!

 Christmas Play Announcements: 

Please arrive at school at the normal time on Thursday morning dressed in all black. 

They do not need to bring their backpacks or a lunch.  

The first performance is at 10 a.m.  

Immediately after, please come to our classroom and sign your child out for the day.  School is dismissed at that time.   We want them to go home and rest.  

Please have your child back in the classroom at 6:15 for the 7 p.m. performance.  

I strongly suggest being on time as there will be a lot of people trying to park.  

After the evening performance, you will need to once again sign them out of the classroom. 

Last, on Friday I am having a pizza party for lunch if you would like to send a few dollars and a drink.  Friday will be a normal school day.  :)  

They have worked very hard, and I know you are going to love this performance celebrating our Savior!

 Hey everyone! I need to cancel tonight’s homework! We are pretty busy with Christmas play practice at school, so they are not required to complete that assignment. Anyone who already did it will get a homework pass to use another time. Thanks everyone!

Read History pp 231-234 and do CCU 236 A-C

 Happy Friday! 

**Christmas play is this Thursday.  There are 2 performances, one at 10 a.m. and one at 7 p.m.  Remember, they need to be in all black, and they need to be here by 6 for the evening performance.  

Weekend Homework includes any work not finished in class as well as the homework I had planned on assigning.  They have a list coming home that I checked with them, so they know what to do.  :)  I will include the list below.  

Just a note, if your child did not complete 1-7 on the list, they may need you to speak to them about working a little harder in class. 

I will post next week's homework in a separate blog for easier access.   

12/8/23 Classwork: 

 1.  History:  Answer the questions on page 221.

 2.  Science: Answer the questions on page 216. 

3.  Read History pages 222-235.

4.  Read Science pages 218-230.

5.  Do math pages 118 and 119. 

6.  Do Language page 67. 

7.  Write a paragraph about how you will make the Grinch Smile.  

8.  Do page 27.

Friday's HOMEWORK

Math pages 115-116 (Skip section 10 and the Clever Cranium section.)

Study for Trial Spelling test on Monday.  

 Thursday night's homework: 

Copy spelling list 13 twice. 

Read in your history book pages 212-220. 

Read in your science book pages 212-216.

Be able to answer questions at the end of the history and science sections.  You do not have to write the answers on paper.  

 For homework tonight they need to choose a historical landmark in West Virginia and find 3 facts about it.  I sent home a list of places for examples, but they can choose any historical place in West Virginia. 

Also, they have to do math lesson 61 homework section.

Special Announcements for the next couple of weeks:

The Christmas store will be open each day next week.  We will visit it at recess ONLY each day. A form was sent home earlier this week.    

Spelling list 13 will be spread out over the next 2 weeks.  So, the trial test will be on Monday the 11th, and the test will be Tuesday the 12th.
