 Tonight's Math Homework is p. 330.  Do the entire page.  Also, if class math is not completed at school,                                 they will also bring that home.  

                History is the same as on the original blog, they will have begun this in class. ( P. 173 A-C)

Here are some study trms for Friday's History and Science Quizzes. 

History-  Chapter 7 and Study the map on p. 523.

Fort Sumter-First shots of the Civil War fired here. 

Ford's Theater- Place where Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. 

Merrimack and Monitor-battle of the ironclads.  

Appomattox Court House-Location of Lee's surrender to Grant. 

Battle of Bull Run- First major battle of the Civil War

Gettysburg-Turning point of the Civil War

Harriet Tubman-Led over 70 slaves to freedom using the underground railroad

Sherman- led a "march to the sea". 

Republican party-Founded on the belief that slavery should not be allowed in the U.S. 

Dred Scott Decision- After this, slavery was allowed in the new U.S. territories. 

South Carolina-The first state to secede from the Union 

Slavery was outlawed by the Thirteenth Amendment. 

Jefferson Davis-Elected president of the Confederate States of America

Kansas-Nebraska Act- Allowed Kansas to join the Union as a slave state.  

Science  Study sections 4.1-4.4 and be able to label the parts of a flower.

Know the following facts:

A pine tree is a needleleaf tree. 

All living things are called organisms. 

Each annual ring represents a year of a tree's life. 

A tree's roots anchor it to the ground. 

A maple is an example of a broadleaf tree. 

Deciduous trees lose their leaves and are bare part of the year

Practice these terms: 

chlorophyll-green matter that plants use to make their food. 

fruit- Holds and protects the seeds. 

Inputs of photosynthesis:  Sunlight, water, adn carbon dioxide

Humus-helps soil by adding nutrients and soaking up water.  

Palm tree-does not have branches, annual rings, or bark. 

Oxygen- Given off by photosynthesis. 

Disk flower-Flowers of a composite flower that radiates from the center.
