Battles

Battle of Brooklyn-Affected control of New York Harbor

Battle Kings Mountain- Kept the British from invading North Carolina

Battle of Saratoga- turning point of the War for Independence

Battle of Yorktown-England surrendered after this battle

Places

Valley Forge-Where Washington and his men spent the worst winter of the war 

Northwest Territory- New land included in the Treaty of Paris

Delaware River- The river that Washington and his men crossed on Christmas night

Fort Ticonderoga- Captured by Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys

Things to remember:

Olive Branch Petition- document refused by King George III

Treaty of Paris- England gave up the 13 colonies with this treaty

1776- Declaration of Independence signed

1781- American War for Independence ends

France sent supplies and soldiers to help the Continental Army
