Our first full week was a success!  Our first PRACTICE Spelling tests were great!  The class seemed to respond well to the format of the test which is slightly different than what they may have been used to seeing.

Upcoming things to remember for August 29-September 2

Pictures are Friday, September 2nd.

There will be a Math test on Monday, a Language quiz on Wednesday, and a Spelling trial on Thursday with the actual test on Friday.  Students scoring a 100% on the trial will not take the test on Friday.

Here is our homework schedule for next week.  Please keep in mind that I may add to this or take away from it as needed and the students are required to copy it down each day.

Monday: Language page 206

Copy Spelling list once, definitions once.

Tuesday:  Math Page 318 Lesson 5 homework section only

Copy Spelling list twice, definitions once.

Thursday:  Copy missed spelling words 5 times each. Copy missed vocabulary words with

                    definitions once.  Study for test.

Study Psalm 119:103-105 by reciting it at least 2 times.  Try without looking.

Friday:  Math Page 319 Lesson 10

Fourth Grade is off to a great start!  Thank you all for allowing me to teach your children!  We are going to have a great year!

We will have our first Spelling Test this Friday, August 26th.  There will be a trial test on Thursday.  We will continue having a trial test every Thursday and the actual test on Fridays going forward.  Anyone who scores a 100% on the trial test does not have to take the test on Friday!  :)

I forgot to add a King James Bible to the supply list, but each student does need one to keep at their desks.  We will be memorizing a lot of great scripture this year! Our first scripture memorization will be Psalm 119:103-105.

Our prize box is always in need of goodies if you are looking for a way to help out our class.  Small items like candy are great!  Just ask your kids what types of things they would like to see in there!  As long as the items are small enough to hold in their hand, they should work out well!

Thanks for your continued support!

Supply List

Here is a list of supplies your child will need for 4th grade:

Loose leaf paper-At least 2 packages

3 subject notebooks-2 or 3 should get them through the year

Small lined notebook dedicated to homework assignments

3 sturdy folders

No. 2 pencils-Mechanical pencils are great!

2 glue sticks

1 ruler

Pencil Box/Pouch

Colored Pencils (They do not need crayons this year)

Disinfecting Wipes

1 bottle hand sanitizer

2 boxes of tissues

The students will not be permitted to keep binders or toys at their desks.  If your child would like to use a binder or bring toys to school, they can be kept in their backpacks.  Any items kept at their desks that become a distraction will be sent home.  Desks will be kept neat and orderly; a minimal amount of items are needed in their work area.  I will be giving each student a special "desk pet" for good behavior that will make our learning time even more fun.  I am sure they will tell you all about it.

If you have any trouble getting these supplies, just shoot me a message! I have several supplies to get us started. 😀

Thanks!

Welcome

Welcome to 4th grade!  I will be your child's teacher this year, and I am excited to get started!  Let me tell you a little about myself. Other than being a wife and mom, teaching is my favorite thing to do!  I received my Bachelor's Degree from Wheeling Jesuit University (now Wheeling University) in 2002 and began teaching that fall.   I have been a teacher in some capacity for the past 19 years, 8 of those homeschooling my children. My husband and I live in Nettie with our 4 children ages 10 to 18. We spend most of our time camping and serving God to the best of our ability!  My husband is the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church here in Summersville where I lead our ladies' group and work in several other ministries.

I look forward to a great year and can't wait to meet you and your children.
